Everyone loves a double buzz

Today is a good day for me.  I am off work sick at the moment –that’s not the good part.  You see I am into my second week of being off and week two offers so many possibilities in comparison with  week one.  I had minor surgery last week and spent last week feeling groggy and recovering.  I’m not going to lie, I was feeling a bit sorry for myself and really made no effort to enjoy the opportunities around me.  By day 6 of my recovery I was feeling a good bit better with minimal pain but still a bit low and so that’s when boredom set in.  The endless channel changing, the numerous movies being started and switched off within five minutes, the googling (don’t get me started on the googling, that’s a whole other blog!) and the inability to concentrate on anything for longer than five minutes.  With the boredom came the online shopping.  Now I am a huge fan of online shopping.  It’s all about the Double Buzz.  You get the buzz of buying followed by the buzz of delivery.  Double buzz!  Double buzz is a concept which I live life by.  Why get one buzz when you can get two.  I apply this to all aspects of my life.  For example, dieting.  I am a fatty at heart.  I love nothing more than tucking into some good chuck.  So, I load up on food, eat like a boom boom, get the buzz out of that and then BOOM!!  I diet.  And all of a sudden I’m feeling sleek as those pounds drop off. I’m feeling good as I slink my way on to the scales.  Buzz – double buzz right there.  Eating buzz, slimming, buzz.  (For the avoidance of doubt i am neither fat nor skinny at any time in my life, I yoyo within a healthy bmi and wouldn’t advocate anything other than this)

So now that I’m in week two I am onto the second buzz of the online shopping experience – the deliveries.  Now you can imagine that when you’re home alone all day, every day, this has an added element of buzz to it – you get to speak to the delivery drivers.  Whether it’s just a bit of small talk, weather chat, have a nice day, it doesn’t matter.  It’s human contact.  The first in over a week (well excluding all my friends and family who have visited and my lovely husband – but that’s still not the same as human interaction with real live strangers).  That’s what makes my day.  So today I received the first of my many deliveries. BUZZ

The chat wasn’t the best.  The item no better than average.  And yet the experience was divine.  The anticipation as the van pulled up outside my house.  Trying to act casual and resist the temptation of opening the door before its been knocked.  The not knowing which of my orders it was.  The opening and trying on of said item.  All in all, the highlight of my day.

But it doesn’t end there.  I’m greedy.  I want more.  I’m not satisfied with a double buzz anymore i need more.  So, tonight i will return said item and eagerly await the refund into my bank.  This is what is known as the TRIPLE BUZZ

Happy days my friend, happy days.

(p.s. i will be returning to work next week and so normal activity will resume and the deliveries will simply become a nuisance when i have to try to organise collection etc…but for now, it’s a beautiful life)
